Mark Masselli Biography: Commitment To Health care is a Right Not a Privilege

Mark Masselli is a  Middletown, Connecticut, native (where he has spent his entire life). He helps provide affordable healthcare and supports housing to the homeless.

Mark Masselli is committed to the belief that healthcare is a right not a privilege. He founded the Community Health Center Inc. in Middletown and developed many other health and human services initiatives across the state and around the world.

Local Involvement

Mark Masselli is passionate about his Connecticut-based projects, where he was a founding member of New Horizons Battered Women’s Shelter, Nehemiah Housing Corporation and Oddfellows Youth Playhouse.

International Initiatives

In addition, Mark is also deeply involved with international human rights. Some key projects include working with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, where traveled in Tibet, Nepal, India and China to work on the issues facing the Tibetan people.

He was also active in the development of the Bishop Tutu Refugee relief agency during the critical years fighting apartheid in South Africa.  

Doctorate, Lectures, Radio

For this and other work, Mark Masselli was honored with a Doctorate of Humane Letters by Wesleyan University in 2009.

He continues to lecture frequently, and co-hosts a weekly radio show recorded at WESU at Wesleyan University.
